The European Union forges a path towards enhanced cybersecurity: a provisional agreement on the Cyber Resilience Act
The European Union Parliament and Council provisionally agreed on a new law, the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), which sets cybersecurity standards for various digital products. The law aims to improve overall cybersecurity in the EU by requiring manufacturers to design, develop, and produce secure products throughout their lifecycle. While the core principles remain from the initial proposal, adjustments were made on specific aspects like product lifetime and support for small businesses. The official adoption process will take some time, but the agreement paves the way for a more secure digital environment in the EU.
