The European Commission has launched the AI Continent Action Plan to establish Europe as a global leader in artificial intelligence (AI). 

The plan focuses on five pillars. First, in terms of AI data and computing infrastructure, Europe will enhance its network of AI factories, supercomputers, and AI Gigafactories. Second, the creation of Data Labs will increase access to high-quality data. Third, the Apply AI Strategy will foster AI adoption across EU industries, targeting key public and private sectors. Fourth, to address AI skill shortages, the Commission will support recruitment of global experts, and create educational and training initiatives to develop the next generation of AI specialists. Finally, the Commission will simplify AI regulations through the AI Act.
